Conversation and Afternoon Tea
This piece incorporates found fragments of china to evoke the conversations shared during afternoon tea gatherings. It serves as a tribute to the affection and care fostered within families and friendships over time, highlighting the significance of the dedicated use of fine china for meaningful celebrations and family occasions.
The china fragments are connected by crocheted chains, symbolising the support, commitment, and enduring bonds inherent in familial and friendly relationships.
This artwork was created during the New Norcia Artist Residency, with support from the Mandorla Art Award, the New Norcia Benedictine Community and the Newman Nominees The Sullivan Family.
